Description
Wadi Seil Village, Haraz Area, Manakhah, Yemen · 1700–2240 MASL
There are coffees that are grown. And then there are coffees that are crafted. The Ghalib Barrel Aged sits firmly in the second category.
Produced by farmer Mr. Ghalib in the Wadi Seil Village of Yemen's Haraz region, this Ancient Typica lot begins its journey like any other; carefully harvested at altitude, selected for quality, processed with intention. But then comes the step that sets it apart from anything else in our lineup: seven days of barrel aging through a semi-anaerobic process, developed in close collaboration with Mr. Ghalib in pursuit of something that had never quite been done before in Yemeni coffee.
The barrel aging draws out a depth that straight natural processing simply can't reach. Red fruits dominate; bold, ripe, and vivid, layered over a bright, juicy acidity that keeps the cup feeling alive rather than heavy. It's a coffee for the curious. For the person who has tried a lot and is still looking for something new.
These Yemen coffee beans are a single-farmer nano lot, available in limited quantities only.
Tasting notes: Red fruits. Juicy brightness. Complex layered finish.
